This song was the staple of late seventies radio and fit in with hits of that era like Telephone Line by ELO, et al. It was the sound of the seventies.
Baby Come Back was in heavy rotation by non-disco stations and ruled Top 40 Radio. It was the number one single for two weeks in January of 1978, sandwich by two different #1 songs by the Bee Gees. This was Players’ only number one hit and the rest of their music wasn’t all that memorable.

There are a bunch of songs I associate with his same era. I remember hearing this song all the time when I was growing up. For some reason, I associate it with “Brandy,” which I think was a much earlier song.
Heh. Anyhow, thanks for the memory. And how much more 70′s could they possibly look?
