M-390. “Underneath it All f/DJ Lady Saw” by No Doubt

Track Eight was the Third Single released from 2001′s Rock Steady and has a serious Jamaican Reggae flavor going on. This love song written for Gwen Stefani’s boyfriend, Gavin Rossdale, was the band’s highest charting single topping out at #3 on Billboard’s Top 100.

What attracted me to this song, not counting the sexy video, was they sweet vocals that seem to float over the melody. It makes one wish he was the object of her desire.

If you want to see the Official Video, you’ll have to go to the embed disabled YouTube page from Universal Music Group. Or you can watch this live performance recorded in Peru.

  1. I alternately love and loath this particular song. I do, I confess, love parodying the chorus and have done so in public during a number of performances. It is a great song to pull out right after you’ve played a scene where some building collapses.
