“Take The Skinheads Bowling” drew us to Telephone Free Landslide Victory. “Where The Hell Is Bill? allegedly about one-time Camper Van Beethoven drummer Bill McDonald.
Several of the songs on this album, notably “Bowling,” “Wasted,” and “Club Med Sucks,” seem to be taking the piss out of a certain kind of fan of punk rock. “Where The Hell is Bill?” name drops a bunch of punk rock related terms, though its unclear if this is meant to be disparaging punk rock. It is clear that these are all things Bill might well be doing, since clearly Bill, at least, is a punk rocker – or at least fancies himself one.
By this time, I think the world, or at least California, was filling up with Punk Wannabe Poseurs.
