FUNTIME – THE CARS

As I mentioned in an earlier post, The Cars were influenced by some of the finest acts of the early 1970s. Apparently, Iggy Pop and The Stooges were an act that they, at the very least, admired. “Funtime” (only available on Just What I Needed) is a pretty decent cover of the Iggy Pop original.

I’ve only recently (read: last four years) recognized Iggy Pop’s genius. In this regard, I am about 30 years behind The Cars. Technically, this makes them cooler than me.
