M-475. “Holiest Night” by Monica Queen

The next three songs are from 2005′s Return of the Sacred Heart which is a RIAA release. Therefore, there is no album cover as the avatar nor is there a link to purchase the CD. I provide that as a free service only to Releases by Record Companies that aren’t affiliated with RIAA.

For some inexplicable reason, this song, Track 11 is first, followed by Track 4 then Track 2. Perhaps my Panasonic MP3 player also has it in for RIAA.

Holiest Night is a slow heart felt song featuring Monica Queen’s outstanding, powerful voice and accompanied only by an electronic arrangement performed by Johnny Smillie. Smillie was co-founder along with Ms. Queen of the band Thrum.

I couldn’t find any embeddable content whatsoever for this song, but you can hear it on The Official Monica Queen MySpace Page.

  1. Let’s assume for the moment that record company wonks are not morons. If they are intelligent, then what would be the reason for making it more challenging to spread the music of one of their lesser known artists? I don’t mind visiting her MySpace page, but the only reason I’m exposed to it is because of your link. Wouldn’t it make more sense to provide an embeddable link so that you could just expose me to the song directly? Yes, its only a click or two, but embeddable content is the way the web works these days.

Honest to God, its as if they want to fail.

    Oh, pretty song. :D

  2. They refuse to let go off the outdated model in which they had complete control of the market. That’s why they hate the interwebs so much.
