The Equaliser – The Clash

I may be wrong, but I’ve also believed “The Equaliser” was an example of dub reggae. Reading Wikipedia’s description, I still think it might be, but I’m not quite as confident.

This is another pro-worker song – in this case, it sounds like maybe a pro-farmer song to me. That said, the term “gang boss” makes me think it might be a pro-prisoner song (as in “road gang”).

Anyhow, its a fairly successful dub experiment, which means it outclasses a bunch of the other Sandinista! tracks.
