I downloaded this song from a Latin Music site awhile back because I really liked the Café Tacvba version of this song and wanted to hear the original. More on the latter in about 600 posts…
Los Tres (The Three) is a Chilean Group of four people, a pop singer and three Jazzmen. They originally recorded and released this song on their third Studio Album, 1995′s La espada y la pared (The Sword and the the Wall) and this acoustic version was released on their 1996 MTV Unplugged Album.
Déjate caer (Let yourself fall) is kind of obscure in meaning but it seems like a couple is having an emotional breakdown or break-up. the first couple of verses seem to be about the other partner in the relationship and later closes with a similar fatalism for the singer.
| Déjate caer Déjate caer La Tierra es al revés La sangre es amarilla Déjate caer El viento ya no sopla La boca bien cerrada Amárrate los pies Piensa en tu madre Y déjate caer |
Let yourself fall Let yourself fall The earth is turned around The blood is yellow Let yourself fall The wind no longer blows The mouth well sealed Tie up your feet Think of your mother And let yourself fall |
Live unplugged performance on MTV.
The official version for the Original Studio Recording.
Some fantastic guitar playing going on here. I dig this, too. I prefer the acoustic Unplugged version to the studio version. Its more honest somehow.
I hear what you mean.
