So now we are rewinding back to the very early days of Judgement Day and the Original incarnation of MP3.com. There is not a lot of readily available information on this song, but listening to it, I would say it is one of Judgement Day’s earliest recordings.
This is pure acoustic by the Brothers Patzner with-out any effects or a drummer. It is exactly what any listeners or passer-byes would have heard during their street corner performances. It is raw and edgy, dark and foreboding.
No trace of this song in any form was locatable by yours truly so I knuckled down and figured out what I was doing wrong trying to create a generic video. I’m using Open Movie Maker on my Ubuntu 9.10 laptop and I was not able to get any sound. It finally came to me that this Open Source program may not have wanted the hassle of dealing with a licensed, proprietary format, MPEG-1 Layer-3, better know lovingly as
MP3.
If you are savvy to the various file formats, I opted to convert the original MP3 for this song into a FLAC. That imported and played in Open Movie Maker like a dream.
Rendering posed a whole different set of problems with all the various Audio and Video CODEC choices. It kept crashing when it hit the embedded JPEGs. Anyway, at long last here’s a taste of an early, hard to find recording with a couple of generic titles.
