This is the final installment of the clearly misnamed End of Year Countdown, I am recapping the music that has had accompanied me the most during my overly occupied life in 2011.
#3 La Pijama by N. O. H. A.
Any one who somewhat follows my Facebook Page knows I constantly posted yet another video for this song. So much so that I was told that I needed some type of intervention. I got hooked by its bright repetitive simplicity and simple vocal line when I first heard it on our home digital music feed.
Well I started checking out everything I could from this Drum & Bass group and you will hear more from them when I wrap around the Alphabet and come back through again.
#2 Mend (To Fix, To Repair) by Elsiane
I’ve talked about this Trip-hop duo before. Also from 2008′s Hybrid, this song just makes me want sit back and chill. With the stress these days, I need to just chill…
Here’s a live performance video. As always, the moment I heard her voice, I got chills all over…
#1 Shelter by Miyavi
J-Rocker Miyavi is the big winner because I have been playing the hell out of this song. On my MP3 Player, on my computer and on my Guitar!!
When we were barreling down I-4 headed for his concert while listening to his 2010 CD What’s My Name, this song came on and I turned it up. “I love this riff!” I declared.
Sora’s friends in the back giggled in the back and one of them said, “Damn Sora! You called that!”
“Yeah Dad,” Sora added, “When we first heard this song, I told them that this sound like a ‘Dad Riff’.”
Miyavi performed this one at the concert! I watched the positions he used while playing it. I think this is the only song that I belted out the chorus along with the rest of the audience.
Here it is, the 2010 most listened to New/New to me song:
Live

Oooo. Going to need to add Miyavi to my iTunes library….
He is pretty awesome!
Wow, I’ve recently noticed after the upgrade, a lot of ” and ‘ marks were converted into the HTML code breaking links et cetera. After I fixed it, I added to a link to the previously only Miyavi track I had.
Glad you recommented here. I don’t think I ever downloaded any Miyavi.
