Album version here. Live:
“Ultimate” is one of the best kick offs to an album you’ll run across. Seriously, watch the live video both to get an idea of what a great song this is, but also how amazing Gogol Bordello are live.
In 2007, Gogol Bordello released Super Taranta!, their fourth album. They build on the strength and sound they displayed on their previous album, Gypsy Punk Underdog World Strike, creating an album that blows me away every time I listen to it.
I think the lyrics to this song are fantastic, but especially like this part:
There were never any good old days
They are today, they are tomorrow
It’s a stupid thing we say
Cursing tomorrow with sorrow
It really captures the “live for today” attitude of the band in an eloquent way.
Anyhow, listen to this song when you wake up first thing in the morning and your life will be better.
