In 1980, Grace Jones released her first album in what came to be known as her Compass Point Trilogy, named after the studio where she recorded the records in questions. Nightclubbing was the second (and arguably best) of the trilogy, which concluded with a somewhat disappointing album called Living My Life. The first album in the trilogy, however, was excellent and was titled Warm Leatherette.

The title track is an inspired reimagining of a song originally by an influential electronic band called The Normal:

This song was based on the book Crash. (which inspired the movie Crash) As such, the song is about becoming sexually aroused by car crashes. That leads me to tonight’s fun list:
