3658. “All I Ever Wanted” by The Human League

Official video:

In 2001, The Human League (who had never broken up) released Secrets. Like similar albums by their contemporaries Depeche Mode, New Order and the B-52s, Secrets managed to walk a line between the band’s classic sound and the music of this century.

Their lead single from Secrets was “All I Ever Wanted” and it is, in my opinion, one of the finest tracks they ever recorded. Unfortunately, their record label folded while still in the middle of promoting the album and neither single nor LP made much of an impression in 2001. Really a shame.
