M-807. “Rabbiteen” by Jack Off Jill

Track 4 from 2000’s Clear Hearts Grey Flowers which was another gem that found at the first incarnation of MP3.com. It was and seems to again a bastion were new to you music can be discovered and enjoyed. This has been one of the driving forces behind me sharing my music that can be found MP3 Player as I astutely stated before.

Yet the big corporate RIAA Labels continue to squash such actions that would serve to expand the audience of their stable of “talent” at no cost to them. They would rather make you PAY them for the chance to hear what they have to offer and crush the true music lover. Kind of like how the subject of this Jack Off Jill classic crushed are heroines hopes and dreams of a Happy forever after…

Listening to the song itself, Rabiteen opens with a drum fill to start the band and Agent Moulder (AKA the big white beav) makes a pocket with simple bass line that is one of the best hooks that you’ll ever try to shake out of your head. Jessicka vocal delivery demonstrates Goth‘s influence on Ethereal Wave.

And of course, got to have someone singing along!! This young lady injects some of her own style and personality in a couple of places. Definitely impressive.

  1. Quite a good song. Also, its true that the Major Labels/RIAA seem to be hellbent on their own self-destruction. They’re not playing this game with an eye towards long term self-interest, and as long as they stay focused on these short-term, stop-gap ways of trying to make money, they’re only hastening their eventual demise.

  2. I started writing about my next post but ended up focusing on this song inadvertently again. But I am glad I did, I was able to update this post and focus on the music.
