1390. “Breakdown [Original 12"]” by Colourbox

“Breakdown” reminds me a little of early-80’s era Ministry - it has a sort of heavy synth sound that is dance-able, but not necessarily as friendly as other early 80’s synth pop. Original Colourbox singer, Debian Curry, sounds a little like Debbie Harry to me.

This is one of Colourbox’s first songs, before they discovered what I characterize as their signature sound. Funny that I would think a band that barely released 20 songs has a signature sound.

    The circular riff has a little depth to it in sound, but otherwise its a super mild 80’s Synth Pop
