M-594. “To Myself I Turned” by Lacuna Coil

Track Five from In A Reverie was the first song that I heard on the Original MP3.com’s Top One Hundred Metal Songs. If it hadn’t been for that, I would have been a latecomer to Enter the Coil.

This song will actually remind you of Falling, but with a more ethereal twist. The music was written and arranged by their producer, Waldemar Sorychta. He also performed the keyboard parts on this album. Sorychta has produced all of Lacuna Coil’s Century Media releases except their latest effort, 2009’s Shallow Life. It was produced by Don Gillmore who is best known for his work on the first two Linkin Park albums.

The lyrics are a little abstract so I consulted our Unofficial Song Interpretation Team. They’ve come to an agreement, of sorts, that the first verse was about retreating into a Fantasy World only to be called back into the Real World in the second.

Here is a song over graphic for your audio and visual enjoyment.

Well, that is an eye catching graphic!

I like the different style at the top of the song and love the harmony vocals. This is one I may have to download.
