M-603.” To the Edge” by Lacuna Coil
Track Two kicks this album into high gear with driving guitars and accelerated vocals from both Scabbia and Fero. This track builds on a promise of greatness from the opening track but 2006’s Karmascode just doesn’t quite deliver.
What is most unique about this song is that Marco Coti Zelati Bass playing is featured more in the forefront in the opening and throughout the song. His tracks are usually mixed down and usually seem lost in the blend with the drums. To my ears, the Bass has been too subdued and should really get a better mix to some more bottom end to balance Scabbia’s soaring vocals.
I checked with our Unofficial Song Interpretation Team and we have more-or-less believe that the singer keeps making the same mistakes while trying to make the best of fleeting fame. Literally pushing life to the edge.
Here is a fan video containing images and video snippets that normally are gathered for such tributes. However this particular YouTuber, MyBeautifulBlackRose, ups the ante and writes “…i even put pictures of the jagermeister tour where i went to see them FRONT ROW!! they’re awsome in concert!”

I love the image of Ms. Scabbia as a vampire above the rest of the band.
I agree about the bass. Not only does it balance out her vocals better, it makes the song sound little more aggressive. I like this one quite a bit!

The other guitarists use Baritone Guitars. These are tuned two full steps below normal guitar tuning (Lowest note is C below middle C.) Sometimes they detune the bottom one more step (Drop-B.) So with all that upper bass register on the treble team, they don’t seem so heavy.
