2177. “Shut Up And Get On The Plane” by The Drive-By Truckers
Live this year (2009):
For clearer singing, listen to the album version at Last.fm.
Living in fear’s just another way of dying before your time. Mike Cooley.
Having played his final gig, our hero sings this duet with the ghost of Ronnie Van Zandt. I’m going to give Ronnie the choruses and the hero the rest of the song. We’ve already seen them loading up their equipment at the start of the act. They load it up again now, but our newly sober hero recognizes that there’s something not quite right. None the less, Ronnie urges him to get on the flight and, eventually, he does.
This song rips in the best possible way.
