Producer Martin Hannett was solely responsible for the next two tracks. They are both solo keyboard soundscapes. Really, an argument can be made that Hannett had some new keyboard toys and was just fooling around with them, but both this and the next piece have a bit more shape to them than that.

What I find intriguing is that the keyboard work here is clearly in the same school as Joy Division/New Order. Its not bright and poppy, but rather brooding and dark.
