What a difference a real drummer makes! This track features drummer Bruce Mitchell, who became the other major figure in The Durutti Column.

“The Missing Boy” is a second, more fully developed tribute to Ian Curtis of Joy Division. Vini Reilly is the singer on this track and I think the song works better because of the clear emotion in his voice. Curtis was clearly well loved - his suicide inspired dozes of songs.

Anyhow, this is my favorite Durutti column piece and it’s featured on their 1981 album LC..
