2255. “Tequila Sunrise” by The Eagles

Live:

“Tequila Sunrise” was the closest thing to a hit from the Desperado album. Even then, the song didn’t even crack the Top 40. Hey, there are a ton of rock classics that never broke the Top 40 and have been remembered longer and more fondly than songs that did hit the Top 40 at the same time. Ah, fame is fleeting!

Basically, “Tequila Sunrise” is a mellow song about waking up hungover, having slept with your friend’s wife or girlfriend while you were both drunk. The singer regrets it, but in more of a “gosh darn” way than a “oh snap” way.

Never really cared for this one all that much and I can’t tell you why…

    I could easily write:

Never really cared for this one all that much and “I Can’t Tell You Why.” :P
