2288. “If You See Natalie” by The Eels
You’re going to have to visit Last.FM to hear this lovely track.
“If You See Natalie” addresses another person suffering from depression, the titular Natalie.
E is an accomplished piano player. On this track, he mostly accompanies himself for the first verse and chorus. Its interesting that he can’t contact Natalie directly - he’s sending this message through somebody else who may or may not actually see Natalie. It makes me wonder if she’s the one that he’s not speaking to anymore after “Last Time We Spoke.”
The rest of the band (including a string section) kicks in when he reaches the second verse to great effect. This is one of the most affecting songs on Blinking Lights. Highly recommended.

This one is very powerful with feelings and emotions. AT least how it makes me feel in that regards.

E’s strength seems to be songs that evoke painful emotions. He makes the old college try at more upbeat songs, but he’s better at pain (without being emo).
