M-609. “Animal” de La Ley

This is my last “L” Band and one that I often talked about or compared to their contemporaries. I speak of the 2002 Latin Grammy winning album, 2001’s MTV Unplugged- La Ley This album, along with De Viaje by Sin Bandera, was a reflection on the romantic mood from our Cedar Key vacation.

This CD was the most beautiful and the most listened to and I hope this set of six songs moves you as well.

Animal is the opening track to the album. Its opening notes and riffs immediately bring back fond romantic memories. This song is about the truest, undying love that one has for another even after that love is lost by an untimely death. The “singer” can only continue to exist by continually wrapping himself up with the love for the one he still pines.

Solamente solo existo en este altar
solamente solo persisto en este amar
besame y besame hasta sentirte
animal
Only I alone exist on this altar
Only I alone persist in this love
Kiss me, kiss me until you’re felt
Animal

Fittingly, here is the live video performance from MTV Unplugged for this song.

Wow, that singer is a good looking man.

Pretty song. His vocals are cool and controlled - I am filled with admiration for him as a singer. Like Bryan Ferry.

  2. Memo Juez Says:

He has that Latin Lover sound.

  3. Joey Michaels Says:

Yes - plus he seems to exude cool - but that could just be me marveling over his beauty. Brother looks like he was created by some great painter.

  4. Memo Juez Says:

    Definitely “El SeƱor Suave”
