M-611. “El Duelo (f/Ely Guerra)” de La Ley
Track Eight is sort of a love song in the vein of Make it Hurt so Good. El Duelo (The Grief) features a duet with Mexican Singer-Songwriter Ely Guerra whose talents lift the song just above ordinary. Her voice pairs well with La Ley’s vocalist, Beto Cuevas.
The lyrics remind me of mild S&M to some degree, but it seems that is what is desired and needed in their relationship to achieve intimacy. There is a mad passion in the lyrics as well as the vocal performances with almost a sense of urgency. The whole aural performance gives you an air of romance even if the lyrics seem “off the beaten path.”
Sin dolor no te haces feliz
sin dolor no te haces feliz
sin amor…
no sufres másWith-out pain you cannot become happy
With-out pain you cannot become happy
With-out love…
You don’t suffer anymore

Man, I can’t get over how good looking the lead singer is.
She has a lovely, smokey, sensuous voice. Indeed, a nice compliment to the band in general.
This track didn’t make as big an impression on me as the last one, but its decent.
