While I’m not much interested in “Boy Blue” as a song to just sit down and listen to, I do rather enjoy it for its ambition. The first minute of the song is an interesting bit of a musical journey, which continues at a couple of other points. Apparently, the song is something of an anti-war anthem, though that was never clear to me until I read the Wikipedia entry and the lyrics. I have a hard time understanding what Jeff Lynne is singing sometimes.
