Electronic was a sort of super group that featured Bernard Sumner of New Order, Johnny Marr from The Smiths and (at least on this song) Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys. They released their album Electronic in 1991 to excellent reviews.

Now, I was a big fan of New Order, a fan of the Pet Shop Boys, and starting to discover that I liked The Smiths, so this band was of interest to me. I was spinning records at KTUH in 1989 (when the single was released according to Wikipedia and played “Getting Away With It” so frequently that I never bothered to familiarize myself with the other songs from the album.

Anyhow, the song sounds like the great lost New Order track and since I am, as I said, a rather big fan of New Order, that works for me.
