The 50’s rock ballad tinged “Still Too Soon To Know” couldn’t be more straightforward. The singer’s lover is falling for somebody else and he’s trying to address the situation as sincerely and politely as he can. Its pretty clear that he’s devestated - or at least preparing to be devestated.

This song reminds me of a scene in Love Actually where a wife confronts her husband who has not quite yet gotten involved with his secretary. The ending of that scene - like the ending of this song - is ambiguous. We don’t really ever get an answer about whether its still too soon to know about the state of the narrator’s relationship.

Moderately heartbreaking and sung with great (albeit restrained) passion.
