“My Science Fiction Twin” describes an evil twin scenario. The singer’s doppelgänger engages in a wide variety of activites that are apparently aimed at making the singer look bad.

The suggestion, to me at least, is that these are some of the things the singer himself does and that his science fiction twin is just a fabrication to lamely justify the behavior.

I first heard about the concept of the “evil twin” (outside of Star Trek episodes) during a debate at my alma mater in 1985. They were debating whether Ronald Reagan had ever really left Hollywood. There was an excellent floor speech delivered about how Reagan had been replaced by an evil twin when he took office.

Its long since become a cliche, but I still enjoy the idea of the evil twin.
