So, I’m watching House M.D. one day and as the episode ends, I hear a cover of Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” playing.

“That voice sounds familiar,” I think.

I google it and - knock me over with a feather - its Elvis Costello covering the song. I have to own it. After a bit of work and some money, its mine.

You know, I’m not exactly what one would call a fan of Christina Aguilera, but after listening to Costello’s cover of this song, I believe my issue with her is more about the production of her songs than the songs themselves. She’s actually a pretty decent songwriter - and a rather good singer. I just hate modern pop music production is all.
