M-615. “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” by KT Tunstall
Kicking off “K” is an extremely talented singer-songwriter and guitarist, Scotland born, KT Tunstall. She became a sensation following her October 2004 solo performance of this song on Later… with Jools Holland. Once this toe-tapping seat dancer was released Officially in 2005, both it and its video performed well in charts worldwide.
According to Tunstall herself:
“Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” is inspired by old blues, Nashville psycho hillbillies & hazy memories. It tells the story of finding yourself lost on your path, and a choice has to be made. It’s about gambling, fate, listening to your heart, and having the strength to fight the darkness that’s always willing to carry you off.
Now you have a chance to see and hear the edgy blues flavored Folk Rock song. Tunstall’s raw yet sweet vocals, natural rhythmic feel and mastery of the Loop Pedal stole the show during her original break-through performance on Later… with Jools Holland.
